A feast for the senses!

Maribor Festival under artistic leadership of Richard Tognetti is a breeze of fresh air on Slovenian and international festival scene. The virtuoso violinist and charismatic director of the Australian Chamber Orchestra is praised by the critics all over the world for his innovative programming and fresh approach to music, whether it be classical symphony or a gypsy tune.

His thrilling artistic concept for the Maribor Festival, put in a few words, would read: “the exploration of old music presented in new ways and the discovery of new music.” All this is topped with a rare concept of festival’s own concert production. Namely, all the concerts are prepared, rehearsed and premiered at the festival itself by the outstanding international line-up of acclaimed musicians - soloists, who come to Maribor from all over the world and form unique ensembles on the spot.
