Here are some suggestions for how you can discover the treasures of Pohorje by bike.

Route 1: Bellevue–Maribor Lodge–Tisa/Jelka–Martin–Bellevue

An easy, family-oriented bike route that leaves from in front of the Bellevue Hotel and follows a marked route to the Maribor Lodge.

From the lodge, you ride along a wooded road toward the Jelka Inn and Tisa Hotel, where you can stop for a bite to eat and then continue on toward the Hoče Lodge.

From there you can follow the route to the Martin Inn and then back to the Bellevue Hotel.

Route 2: Pohorje Bike Park: Downhill (An adrenaline experience!)

Dynamic terrain crisscrossed by marked trails is an ideal choice for biking and hiking challenges for families and adventurers. Enjoy the Pohorje Bike Park trail, which runs about 4 km from the Bellevue Hotel all the way to the base of Pohorje. All along the trail there are earthen and wooden ramps that allow jumps up to 6 m.

  • Distance: 4 km
  • Difficulty level: This is suitable for experienced cyclists as well as those that would like to try it out for the first time. If you are riding here for the first time, it is a good idea to take your first ride with a guide that can demonstrate how to safely use the Pohorje Bike Park.

Route 3: Pohorje mountain biking trail

Enjoy Pohorje’s flawless natural scenery and points of interest by bicycle. This route leads from the church of St. Wolfgang on the Maribor side to the base of Kremžar’s Peak on the Carinthian side of Pohorje. The 75 km route follows the dynamic terrain of Pohorje’s ridges that connect its eastern and western parts.

The route is marked in both directions (trail blaze “PT”) and it intersects many local bike paths and forest roads that lead to all the major population centers around Pohorje.

Many of Pohorje’s hidden treasures, including numerous raised bogs, plateaus, streams with falls, and other natural gems can be found along this rich network of forest roads and bike paths. Come discover them!
